Ref. DLG 17 : Lust Against The Spirit

'' For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.'' Galatians 5:17

The fleshly lust is a weapon of the enemy against the human destiny . Every human being have the tendency to succumb to the lust of the flesh . Our spirits are willing and always yielding to the will of God , but the lust of our flesh has more influence over our decisions and that means our flesh fights against our spiritual desires , just as Yeshua explained to the disciples.

'' Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.'' Matthew 26:41 We are having the spirit but the flesh  is weak , so it easily succumbs to to the lustful temptation that lures people into sinful temptation .That is the reason Yeshua said '' watch and pray '' because it is only through prayer that we can overcome the sinful temptation of the flesh .

There are two main lust of the flesh as it is explained in the scriptures '' For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. '' 1 John 2:16 The lust of the flesh is the one of sexual desires ,that are inordinate affection especially for the wrong person .Lust makes you crave for things  instead of praying for these things things .Lust of the eye is the desire for material possessions that are inordinate especially when the time is wrong . 

The lust for the flesh  or for the things makes people steal, lie, kill and do all kinds of evil things just to have them .And that after the spiritual life of the Christian . ''  From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.'' James 4:1-3

Some Christians pray lustful prayers against the will of God , there are some sinful behaviours that people do ,because of the lust  of the flesh and the lust of the eyes , can quench the fire of the spirit especially if you obey your fleshly desires .

PRAYER

Oh Lord my God help  me to overcome the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes in the name of Yeshua .                 

Ref. DLG 16 : Created For Good Works

''For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.'' Ephesians 2:10

Every child of God must adhere to the principle of doing good all the time  and in any circumstance , because that is what you were  created for as a christian . God  created us to walk in his divine ordinances .The ability of the child of God to do good , means he or she is walking in his vocation   .The purpose of God for mankind when he created us is to make sure we are all godly , righteous and perfect as Christ . 

Sin is what the devil used to divert the cause of righteousness that God gave his children .''He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. '' 1 John 3:8 The child who is living in sins is only following the foot steps of satan .Because God did not create us to live in sin nor do evil , sin is the idea of the devil that human beings accepted .

The godly nature must portray in your character , your words , your actions , and moreover the enemy .People must see you give glory to God because  your good lifestyle . '' And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith  '' Galatians 6 :9-10

Every child of God must  have the virtue of good deeds as their very life style . Even if people offend you ,  you must learn  to still do them good . No condition should stop you from doing good as  child of God .If you have the opportunity just do good to all who are in need Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;  ''Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; '' Romans 12 :17 

Your good deeds must  even be exalted to sinners , and even your enemies, '' Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head,'' Romans 12:20 The love of God is demonstrated in your character of good deeds as a child of God . The Lord expects us to overcome  evil with  good  deeds.'' Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good '' Romans 12:21 , If you slap back , because someone slapped you , this means evil has overcome you , but if you decide to forgive and love the fellow you have demonstrated the love of God in goodness .

Prayer 

Lord help me to do good all the time in the name of Yeshua , because I was created for good works .                                                                                                                                                                

Ref. DLG 15 : Defiling God's Tempole

'' If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. '' 1 Corinthians 3:17

The temple which is the body of the human being must be used to honour God . Using our bodies to do evil and sinful things is what defiles God temple .We the children of God are the temple of God which  must be kept holy and undefiled before God Almighty  .There are a number sinful deeds that defiles the body and for that matter the temple of God .'' Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? '' 1 Corinthians 3:16

Anything evil or sinful that we do can be unclean to the Holy Spirit of God and thereby making the temple of God , which your body to be defiled.In the following scriptures, we see a number of sinful deeds that can defile the child of God { the temple }.'' Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. '' 1 Corinthians 6:9-10

Sin is a reproach to the holiness of the Holy Spirit of God who dwells in us as children of God .The evil you can easily grieve the Holy Spirit and thereby defiling the temple { body } of God  .And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.     Ephesians 4:30 The grieve comes when we do evil and the temple of God { the body } is defiled . That makes the Holy Spirit of God who dwells in you begins feel sad, hurt and uncomfortable to continue to dwell in your body , which suppose to be a holy temple of God .

Before the Holy Spirit will dwell in you , you must first of all be purged and end up with the word for God and the blood of Jesus Christ .'' And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.''  1 Corinthians 6:11  Once a person becomes  born-again the Lord uses his word and the blood of Jesus to cleanse and wash away all sinful stains and marks on your spiritual body and afterwards the Holy spirit will come and take charge of your body and use the body as the temple of God .

So sins committed become stains , blemishes and spots in your temple , defiling the temple thereof and then the temple looses the good taste of righteousness that God intends for the born-again child of God . When the temple is defiled by sin , the Holy Spirit cannot continue to abide with you and that is what makes you backslide .

PRAYER

I confess my sins to you Lord my God , forgive me , consecrate my body and use it as a temple all the time  in the name of Yeshua .

Ref. DLG 14 : The Temple Of God

'' What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? '' 1 Corinthians 6:19

The temple of God is not the physical building we attend services in , those buildings are auditoriums , meeting places or venues for holding services . That is why we can so different types of places for church services ,such as cinema halls , classrooms ,town halls , hotel conference rooms etc. '' But Solomon built him an house.48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest? '' Acts 7:47-49

The temple is the place God dwells and is worshipped , and that place is the human body and more especially the heart .The human body is the dwelling place of God on earth , so you cannot confound God to a physical building and think that is where God is . People that have this mindset will not honour God except they are in a church building .

They cannot listen to the word of God unless in church , they can't pray unless in church , they cannot live a righteous life unless in church ,then they will appear very religious and sanctimonious . They do all kind of evil , when they are out of Church , because they cannot feel the presence of God with them . They cannot be Christians all the time , and they cannot exhibit the godly virtue expected of a christian  every where they find themselves , unless thy are in church .

'' And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. '' 2 Corinthians 6 :16 The temple is the body , where God dwells in the life of the believer .If God can dwell in y our heart and use you all the time to glorify himself , then you are the child of God .

As a child of God ,people must see your godly character in you wherever you are , the light of Christ must be radiant in you , people must notice the Christ in you by the way you speak , dress , act and even drink . '' Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.'' Matthew 5:16  As the temple of God you must portray the presence of God in your character every where you are you , including your house , neighbourhood ,and working place .

Prayer Confession

Lord my God live in my body ,and use my body as your temple forever in the name of Yeshua .                      

Ref. DLG 13 : Speak For Your Servant Hears

 '' And the Lord came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth. '' 1 Samuel 3:10

The Lord is ready to speak , but only on the condition that the children of God are ready to hear and obey his word as servants do obey the word of their masters . The Lord speaks more to his obedient children , the Lord controls his children with the spoken word of God . The Lord God will do nothing on earth , without revealing his mindset unto his children who are as humble and obedient as servants .

One of the most important virtuous that God expects from his children is the servant nature that will keep listening to his voice and obey him continually .God keeps speaking to us , so long as  we humble ourselves to listen and obey his voice all the time . Hearing God's voice because we assume a humble state of life in our heart .

God does not really speak to the proud ,because the voice of God only comes to the humble in heart and spirit .Before God can use a person and really speak to the person he has to humble the person through the process of trials, tests and temptations . '' And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.'' 2 Corintians 12:7

Paul was humbled to know how to walk with the voice of God , that gives him a lot of revelation about God . The humble nature can handle the revelation that the voice of God brings to us as people of God .God's voice cannot reach you unless you are humble , '' But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. '' James 4:7

Many at times great men of God in the bible were referred to as servants of God .

'' Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,'' Romans 1:1 ,

''James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.'' James 1:1

''Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ'' 2 Peter 1:1

'' Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called '' Jude 1:1

Paul , James , Peter , and Jude , they all referred to themselves as servants of Christ , this means they are God's servants and not human servants .Therefore they are called upon to serve God , by hearing his voice , word and revelations and to declare them unto the people .

Thank you Lord Jesus for the opportunity to hear your voice , make me one of your humble servants in the name of Yeshua .

Ref. DLG 12 : Answer The Call Of God

 

''And the Lord came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.'' 1 Samuel 3:10

The Lord calls so many people , but only a few have learnt to answer the call of God .Like little Samuel , so many Christians do not know the voice of God and for that matter cannot recognize the call of God .for their lives .As a result so many people has rejected the call of God for their lives .Samuel had to learn how to answer the call through the priest Eli who knew the nature of God's call and how to answer when God calls .

Samuel thought Eli was calling him , when God was the one calling him . There are many children of God like that who have mistaken God's call for human call . As a result they give all the relevance to people ,like men or women of God . They also delight in taking instructions from human beings instead of God . Because of this so many believers have missed their call , while others have been made to stumble and even backslide .

The call of God must be answered , in submission to God for his instructions , '' speak Lord for your servant is listening ''  be eager to hear and have a servant nature , so you can  be at God's service . All God's prophets in the bible were referred to as servants .'' Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets ''  Amos 3:7 This means you must be ready to serve in every area of service and ministry to the Lord .

Even Jesus had to assume the nature of servant hood , before he could answer the call of God .'' But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: '' Philippines 2:7 In answering God's call , you need to humble yourself , and take away your pride and live the ordinary life of Christ . This includes self denial , having a selfless nature that desires honour God more that yourself .Obedience to godly instructions must be done without consulting human beings , or seeking the opinion of people , friends and relatives .

''But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: '' Galatians 1:15-16 When God called Paul , he did not reason his calling with flesh and blood { human beings },to make sure he was doing the right thing .The call of God must be sure and direct and you must receive it from God and do it yourself .

Prayer confession 

Lord my God help me to answer your call in my life in a perfect way in the name of Yeshua .  

Ref. DLG 11 : The Devil Has Your Contact

 '' Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. '' Job 1:6

The devil can have access into the children of God for so many reasons . The first and foremost reason is because God permits the devil in our life situation , so that he can proof our integrity and see the character traits within us . The devil can contact you at God's permission , just to see if you will answer the call of God for your life .The opening scripture says satan presented himself before God in the midst of God's children .''And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? '' Job 1:8 

The devil is given access to consider our integrity  of worshipping God . The areas of consideration , that proves sincerity of worship are to be blameless , upright , God fearing and to shun evil . The devil is allowed to test you with serious problems to see if you can be seen as truly blameless , upright ,God fearing and shun evil . ''And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord '' Job 1:12 

The Lord satan the authority to destroy to destroy the entire family and possessions of Job , except for his very life . Job lost ten children { three daughters and seven sons } in one day as well as all his wealth . The test of our true identity as children is only done by satan .The devil was permitted to contact Jesus during forty days of prayer and fasting . '' Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil '' Matthew 4:1

Jesus overcame all the temptations of satan which includes , breaking his fast by eating , tempting the Lord God ,and worshipping satan for worldly health instead of God . ''Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve .Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him. ''  Matthew 4:10-11

The devil can have your contact , so that God can really test your true identity ,when you are tried yet without sin ,Like Yeshua '' For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.'' Hebrews 4:15

 Prayer 

Lord Yeshua give me the grace and the power to overcome satan and every demon in the name of Yeshua .'
