Ref. DLG 10 : A Life Of Duality

 

'' So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.'' Rev. 3:15

Duality is the art of living a dual{ two way }life , this means you are neither cold   nor hot . This kind of life is the life that is described as hypocrisy , the life of Christ is not seen in their very  practical lifestyle . They sing gospel songs to worship God at church and they also sing worldly { secular } songs and dance to such music to honour the devil . The child of God must be 100 % in Christ . There are some that go to church on Sunday  morning and yet visit the shrine on Sunday evening  . 

The life of duality is caused by the flesh conflicting with the spirit . The flesh actually wars against the spirit in the life of righteousness as the scriptures declares  ''For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish''.Ephesians 5:17 .

 The person living in duality can be married and still be committing adultery ,married  yet in extra-marital relationship . These are children of God who drink from the cup of the Lord and the cup of devils as the scripture affirms,

''You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons.'' 1 Corinthians 10:21 They can be good at drinking alcoholic drinks  and also drinking the Communion wine  .They also feast , wine and dine with the devil at night clubs or parties , what a duality !   

When they are among unbelievers they act and talk like worldly people , the Christ in them is not revealed  to the unbelievers in their lifestyle .Whereas Yeshua said , '' Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. '' Matthew 5:16 The dual christian  does not show forth good works to their  worldly neighbours . They mingle with  unbelievers and even behave like them, yet when they come to church they behave so sanctimoniously .

 '' Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, '' 2 Corinthians 6:14-17

The true christian is always showing forth the good works ,and deeds as a result the light of God can be noticed by our friends, relatives and neighbours .The christian life is a walk in the narrow way of Christ path .'' Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.'' Matthew 7:14

Prayer Confession

Lord my God deliver me from the life of duality and help me to walk on the narrow way of salvation and life in Jesus name . Ref. DLG 9 : The Disciple

 '' The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master .''  Luke 6:40 

The disciple of Christ is someone who has decided to allow Christ to be his teacher and master . This means you decided to accept the Lord Jesus Christ to be your Lord and master who instructs you to live the godly life . The disciple is a learner after Christ  , the disciple is undergoing training to attain to a level of perfection  that the Lord Jesus requires from the believer .

The disciple is meant to follow the teachings  , the ways  ,the life   and miracles of Christ and also attain the level of doing the same the same thing . The greatest achievement  of the disciple is to be like Christ and do what Christ does and finally be where Christ is . '' Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is '' 1 John 3:2   

The pursuit of the disciple is the totality of Christ to be revealed in them .this happens first through self denial, so that Christ can take over .'' And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. '' Luke 9:23 The disciple takes up the cross  of Christ , which symbolizes all the trials , temptations , and the challenges that the disciple encounters while serving the Lord .

The disciple is someone who follows the perfect example of Christ and tries to be like Messiah in every facet of their life . Jesus said to his disciples ,''For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.''  John 13:15 The disciple is someone who adheres to the teaching of Christ and also teaches others to do the same thing . 

The disciple is the type who is ever ready to obey his master's commands ,because of commitment to discipleship .The disciple has paid the price of discipleship . The disciple has paid the cost of discipleship , and as such enjoys the life of discipleship .The cost of disciples includes , forsaking all that matters to you , and doing all that matters to Christ .       

   '' And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.58 And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.59 And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. '' Luke 9:57-62 

Another cost of discipleship is humility to Christ the master and to submit to his service .The disciple has made a conscious decision to follow Christ all the days of his life .

Prayer 

Lord Jesus I thank you for saving me and making me a disciple in your kingdom , help me to be able to pay the cost of discipleship in Jesus name .                                                                                                                                                                                                           

Ref. DLG 8 : The Carnal Believer

 '' For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men ? '' I Corithians 3:3 

The carnal believer is the one that reasons in the flesh , thinks in the natural and behaves in the physical like any ordinary human being without Christ . The carnal believer is the one that reasons without the word and as such lives the ordinary fleshly lifestyle .'' For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. '' Romans 8:5 

The carnal believer reasons in the flesh according to human wisdom , it could be philosophical , scientifical , , theoretical , theological, but not spiritual . The carnal believer is characterized by the fruits of the flesh ,such as envy, strife , that is fighting over everything , such a person operates in the spirit of division in various ways as racism , partisan, in nature showing partiality in the house of God . 

The carnal believer is full of the love of the world and as such he preoccupied with pride and lust of the flesh always committing sin and asking for forgiveness all the time .'' For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.'' 1 John 2:16 The carnal believer has no interest in spiritual activities , does not like prayers , and has no interest in the word of God .  

The carnal believer may not attend church services regularly , the carnal believer goes to church just to show off , and not really for the purpose of worshipping God nor to listen to the word of God .The carnal is always argumentative about the things of the spirit .So they complain to much over anything that happens in the house of God .The carnal believer is proud , and does not like to submit to the authority in the house of God . The carnal believer ends up being confused  and at times becomes cantankerous  person .

 '' From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts '' James 4:1-3

The above scripture describes in detail some of the characteristics of the carnal believer .

Prayer   

Lord Jesus help me to be more spiritual than physical , deliver me from being a carnal believer , in the name of Yeshua ''

Ref. DLG 7 : Power Of Grace

'' Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power '' Ephesians 3:7

Anytime grace is functioning , in our lives the power of God is revealed to accomplish a work in and for others our lives and for others also .The power of grace is uterlised by the believer to achieve great things in the kingdom of God .The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ release an awesome power  of God for us to overcome satan and all his evil schemes .''And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.'' Rev. 12:11 

The power of God's grace works through the blood of Jesus for the believer to overcome every work of the enemy in our lives . The word of God also is the main source of the power of grace in our lives . Anytime a child of God confesses the word of God that power is released , this power of grace  comes to do things that you could not do ordinary . For instance the apostle Paul said , '' I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.'' Philippines 4:13 

The strength comes from the power of grace , the power of grace can build up a great destiny for you .    The same power can establish an inheritance for you as a child of God .  ''And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.'' Acts 20 :32 

The same power of grace sanctifies the child of God and his power delivers us from the kingdom of darkness so that demons and forces of the devil cannot have dominion over your life .1'' Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. '' Luke 10:19 Through the power of grace we can engage in a spiritual warfare with the devil and we are sure of victory in the name of Jesus Christ    . Jesus gave the church the keys of power to the kingdom of heaven by grace .

 '' And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. '' Matthew 16:19  We have the power of grace to bind up satan and all his forces and to loose every entanglement of the devil in the lives of people .

Prayer point 

Lord I receive this power of grace, so I can do great and mighty things in the name  in the name of Yeshua .

Ref. DLG 6 : Functions of Grace

''  But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.'' Ephesians 4:7 The child of God has been endowed with grace to function God's kingdom .There are some things that a child of a God can do only  by grace . This means that we do those things by the grace of God , the ability of the spirit is given to us so that we can do all things that God requires from us . That is why Philippians 4:13 says .'' I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.  ''  The strength that we have to do all the things God wants us is to do is by grace .

The functions of grace in us are singing ; through grace we can sing in the spirit and worship God in melodious songs . Another function of grace is prayer ;  through grace we are able to pray as never before and the spirit empowers us to do so as Romans 8:26                       ''Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.'' 

Other functions of grace include a life of righteousness ; the spirit helps us to live right and do the righteous acts that God expects from us .Furthermore , we have such as healing , deliverance , prophesying and the like ; all these are prompted and acted by the grace of God upon our lives . '' Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. '' Romans 12:6-8

More functions of grace in us , for us and through us including , ministering in the house of God , teaching the word , exhortation gift  { motivational preachers } , giving to the needy , leading a group , team , department or a local church is also a function of grace .''But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. '' 1 Corinthians 12:7   The grace brings a strong manifestation of God's power unto our lives , then we are able to function supernaturally under the grace of God .'' 

CONFESSIONAL PRAYER

Lord , I thank you for given me the grace to function in your house and in your kingdom in the name of Yeshua . Amen 

                                                            

Ref. DLG 5 : Weapons of Our Warfare

'' For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; '' 2 Corinthians 10:4

The weapons of are warfare are spiritual and not carnal { or physical } ones . We are living in a spiritual battle field , therefore we must fight the battle in the atmosphere of the spirit where these weapons are available .  ''For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: '' 2  Corinthians 10:3 The battle is fought in the spirit , because we have mostly spiritual enemies that operates against our destiny .

'' For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.'' Ephesians 6:12 The enemies of our life are spiritual entities .We are to take up our spiritual armours like faith, righteousness, truth , the gospel of peace , salvation and the sword of the spirit ''Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.'' Ephesians 6 : 13 

The armoury of the soldier in those days include , shield , helmet , sword , girdle, etc . The shield is the faith of the believer , ''Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.'' Ephesians 6:17 This means anytime you confess God's word over your situation , demons are been attacked with the sword of the spirit .

The helmet is the salvation we have in Christ , it is used to cover the head , especially the brain and this means the believer must have the consciousness of his or her salvation in mind during spiritual warfare . { Ephesians 6:17 } The girdle of the believer is truth { Ephesians 6:14 } The believer must be armed with these weapon of speaking the truth at all times .Another important weapon is the shoes of the soldier , which is also referred in scripture as the gospel of peace for the believer . { Ephesians 6:15 } It is a weapon to always preach the gospel that brings peace  between you and people .

'' Finally  , my brethren , be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might . Put on the whole armour of God , that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil '' Ephesians 6:10-11 The weapons of God must be uterlised against the forces of darkness . The last but not the least is the weapon of prayer, ''Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints  ''  Ephesians 6:18  

Confessional prayer 

From today I receive the grace to function with the weapons of our warfare  , I put on the whole armoury of God in the name of Yeshua .                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

Ref. DLG 4 Meditating On The Word

'' But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. '' Psalm 1: 2

The word of God should be the thought of the believer , every genuine child of God confesses the word of God all the time . The will of the Lord and the actual delight of the child of God is that he or she meditates on the word of God daily . Meditating on God's word daily actually proves  positive  that God's word is working in your heart , like the Psalmist said '' Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee '' Psalm 119:11

The word of God is always with you wherever you are and in whatever you do , the word of God is in your conscious . In this sense it keeps you away from evil and it produces in you the life of Christ Jesus . The word is in your reasoning pattern and the power of God operates through the word of God .The Lord told Joshua to ensure that the people of God should always meditate on God's word .

 ''This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.''  Joshua 1:8

Meditating on God's word helps you to obey , to keep and do all that is required of you as a child of God . The believer is actually someone who is full of the word of God , and God can use such a person anytime . Because of the consciousness of the word of God all the time . 

The believer is expected to have the knowledge of God's word in his or her heart always and that is what God is pleased with . '' Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.'' Colossians 3:16

The outcome of meditating the word of God is that it makes you rich in the spiritual life . You are able to know what to do at anytime in your life decision. You always know which scripture to use  anytime you find yourself in any challenge as a christian .

The believer must be knowledgeable of the word of God at all times in his or her life . The believer must ensure that his or her life is a reaction of the word of God . Thinking about what God's word has to say about that very situation and the challenge that person is facing in life , knowing what God's word wants you to say about that very situation .Knowing what God's word instructs you to do anytime you face temptation is a result of meditating on the word .

Prayer point '

Thank you Lord Yeshua for the opportunity you have given to me to know the word and to meditate the word in any way I face life , let your grace keep flowing on me all the time , in Jesus name. Amen
